Pl read thoroughly & suggest your views on Electoral Reform: 1. Candidate should be disqualified for nomination if charges have been framed for offence punishable by imprisonment of 02 years or more. 2. Candidates should be disqualified for contesting any election for 06 years, if he/she submitted false information during nomination. 3. Candidate should be disqualified for contesting election for 06 years, if mobilizes voters on the basis of Caste, Creed, Religion & Place of Birth. 4. Candidates should be disqualified for contesting any election for 12 years, if he/she imprisoned for 02 years or more. 5. It should be mandatory for Candidates & People Representatives to disclose their assets & last 5 years income details, assets & last 5 years income details of his / her Spouse, Children & Parents in public domain. 6. Law should be amended for filing of Election Petition in case of corrupt practices by any contesting candidate. Presently Election Petition can be filed against winners only. 7. Minimum Qualification, Maximum Age Limit & Minimum Health Standard should be laid down as mandatory criteria for MLA / MP. 8. Responsibility & Accountability must be clearly defined for every people representative with stringent penalty clauses for non-compliance. 9. Government should make a law on Right to Reject, Right to Recall & Right to Vote (mandatory voting with special safe guards) on priority. 10. Constitution amendment should be effected to increase no of seats in both houses of Parliament in view of growing numbers of voters. 11. Legal Provision should be made to regulate the functioning of the political parties. ECI should be empowered to regulate the registration. 12. Political Parties should be annually audited & Accounts details must be in public domain to ensure transparency in fund raising & expenditure. 13. Three month mandatory training for every newly elected MLA / MP to teach Indian Constitution & democratic procedures. 14. ECI recommendations should be implemented without any delay. 15. Acts legislated by government should conform to ECI recommendations and Supreme Court directives & suggestions in letter & spirit.
