Place a child in a room with his/her favorite possessions (a puppy, toys, family, television, etc.) and after doing so, return with a box of cookies. Upon exiting the premises mention to the child that he/she cannot eat those cookies because they are bad for his/her health and then leave the room. The child will then begin to gain a sense of unbearable curiosity and wonder why they were told not to eat the cookies. Eventually, he/she will crack and give in to this burning desire and will then proceed to feed his/her curiosity and reach for the box to take a cookie. After the fist cookie was eaten, he/she will temporarily be satisfied until the urge for another surfaces to the core of their thoughts rather than the idea that you said not to eat them to begin with. He/she will then start thinking of the possibilities of another and the simplicity behind the action of grabbing the cookie in the first place and again find his/herself reaching for another. By the time you return, you will find the child with the cookie residue on his/her hands and mouth so you send them on time-out for a couple of minutes, depending on what you feel is reasonable for the crime that this child has committed. Doesnt this all sound very familiar?
