Placement after Promotion: Last year after lots of discussion with our CMD, options for posting at ZAOs were included amongst circles as choice. But an old rule pursued for many years that on promotion an officer wont be given parent ZAO & would be necessarily posted to circles of another ZAO discouraged many from choosing ZAOs. Through our persistent efforts management has agreed to the following change which simply doubles the choice for an officer. > The placement for ZAOs are aligned to the same rules applicable to placement of circles. Lets understand the policy with an example. > for multi-circle states & multi state circle (NER) - scale I to II - under seniority/normal channel a promotee can choose parent circle. If no vacancy available one will be given near by circles. Now such officers can give 2nd option of the same parent circle under ZAO and his chances doubles. > For officers from single circle state on promotion under both channels of Scale I to II & II to III shall be given same circle subject to vacancies. If they give same circle as 2nd choice under ZAO, retention chances Doubles. > for categories who are not to be given parent circle but have to compulsorily choose neubouring circles also double their chances by choosing ZAO as additional circle. For example Bihar has six circles of Patna, Darbhanga, Ara, Muzzaffarpur, Biharsharrif & Gaya and it also has a ZAO at Patna. Now an officer of scale I to II under Seniority/ Normal channel promoted from Gaya can five Gaya as 1st choice & Gaya under ZAO as 2nd Choice to double his chances to stay at Gaya. Similarly an officer promoted from Gaya under other channels of I to II & II to III who are not to be posted at Gaya can give 5 options of other 5 circles of Bihar and remaining 5 choices of same other circles of Bihar under ZAO. This makes his chances to double and increases opportunity to stay at Bihar instead of far flunk states. This change of policy is a game changer in terms of placement opportunity for the following reasons. 1. Officers shall mostly remain within a particular state/area. 2. ZAOs will not starve of man power. 3. No discrimination to officers who were forcefully posted at ZAOs against their choice like in the past. 4. ZAOs shall get officers from various positions in merit list which in the long run shall improve inspection divisions. Our continuous persistence for transparency paid. Like last year this year too the placement policy was announced before promotion applications were invited/closed. This helps candidates to make an informed choice to appear for promotion. We shall continue to work for further improvements. The changes brought in promotion policy this year is unique and historic as we are the first and also only one so far amongst PSU banks. Not being a Face Book leader, I spend most time touring circles for face to face meeting with members and the balance time for improvements in policies, I get less time to visit FB and share more info here.
