Plaintiff, a director at Twin Rivers Unified School District, allegedly learned of misappropriation of funds and improper relationships between district officials and outside consultants, including awarding of projects while foregoing the public bidding process. After reporting, Plaintiff was placed on a leave of absence (to intimidate Plaintiff and conceal the illegal acts). The case settled in August for $400,000.
