Planning application for the National Picture Theatre (146 Beverley Road) and the Swan Inn (148 Beverley Road) Swan Inn The owner has submitted a planning application to renovate the pub with a view to leasing it for use as a one-roomed restaurant / bar, and build a single storey extension to the rear. This extension is to replace the two-storey building that he demolished a few years ago – which was unnecessary in both our, and the Council’s, opinion. Although we would like to acquire the pub as part of our project to provide a Home Front Tribute, we support its renovation, and there is always a possibility of the Trust purchasing it in the future. National Picture Theatre He also wants to build a large car park, an outside eating and drinking area, and build a 2-metre high fence directly behind the ruins of the National Picture Theatre site. This development would take up two-thirds of the Grade ll Listed site, and would mean that the Trust would not be able to build a memorial / performance area, and an education building. Therefore, we need the planning committee at Kingston upon Hull City Council to REFUSE permission for this application – in its present form – when a decision is made at the planning meeting on the 6th November. Would you please consider signing the online petition: chn.ge/1baBb86 And would you please pass this message on to anyone that you think might be interested. Thank you.
