Plants, animals, and protein: Humans used to use animals to - TopicsExpress

Plants, animals, and protein: Humans used to use animals to harvest plants and to turn them into protein. Mostly, animals are just gatherers. Animals ran around, gathering up protein, and humans killed the animals - sooo much easier than actually doing the gathering themselves. Today, we have fields and tractors and factories. As modern farming methods improved, animals began to lose their efficiency. Those entrenched in doing things the old way began to try to manipulate the lives of the animals to increase efficiency. The first thing they did was to eliminate the gathering that was initially useful, and, instead, just turned these sentient beings into factories. All of the pain and torture inherent in todays farmhell practices results from attempting to continually increase the efficiency of the factory. Just as all kinds of chemicals are added to plant material to make foods in brick and mortar factories, they are added to animals. The [barely] walking chemical soup that livestock has become is rapidly becoming obsolete, just as humans have. They have been replaced by machines as well. Those who refuse to acknowledge the obsolescence spent untold amounts of money to convince people they need to have their food pre-digested by another species. In fact the old biological food processing centers we call livestock are not economically viable today. They do however, have very powerful lobbies. Just as the monks tried to stop the printing presses, those who continue to advocate for pre-digested proteins will also lose.
