Platelets dropped to 3 today so we got the first platelet transfusion of 2 bags today. With the two units of packed red cells yesterday and the two bags of platelets today, I could barely keep up with David on our jaunts around the floor. In his ever engineering brain, he has figured out that it is 500 steps around the floor therefore if we make 10 and 1/2 laps that will equal a mile. Is that good enough, I ask you? Not for my hunk of a husband! He has upped the stakes and now we are doing 5 and 1/2 laps on each jaunt and with 4 jaunts a day, (do the math please, you know Im an English/Language Arts Teacher), I believe Mr. Bufkin now has me walking 2 miles a day! Hey, I thought he was supposed to be sick! Praise God he feels good enough to walk each day, Id walk 10 miles a day if that was what he wanted! Actually he told one of our visitors today I feel 100 times better than the day I walked in to this hospital! Does that tell you how sick he was? Thank you to our outstanding Oncologist!
