Plattsburg High School Daily Announcements Tuesday, December 16th, 2014 Happy Birthday to Ian Henggeler & Samantha Weigand!! Friday is a 1/2 day with school dismissing at 12:30 pm. The entire high school will be going to the AMC Movie Theater on Barry Road to watch a movie. Please return the permission slip and $5.00 by THIS Thursday, December 18th. If you decide to stay at school you will be required to stay in one classroom & you will not be allowed to go between different classrooms The volleyball banquet will be tomorrow at 5:30 in the middle school library. The High School Music Program will be Wednesday, December 17th at 7:00 pm in the PAC. Breakfast will be served out of the concession stand in the high school commons tomorrow morning. Tomorrow’s finals are the ODD hours (1st, 3rd, 5th, & 7th) Students, you need to check to see if your library books need to be turned in before the quarter/semester ends. Football players that ordered the District Champions patch need to give Coach Musser $18.50 before Christmas break or you will NOT get a patch. There will be one last Letterman jacket order this year. If you want to order one please see Sherri Shatto in the middle school office. The Junior class is selling $5.00 raffle tickets for a pair of Wireless Beats headphones. The drawing will be during 1/2 time of the December 19th varsity boys basketball game. You DO NOT need to be present to win. These need to be turned in before the end of the day Thursday! All High School Science Olympiad Team members must attend one of two mandatory meetings this week. Rule updates and resources will be discussed. The two options are: Thursday, December 18th at 7 p.m. and Saturday, December 20th at 11 a.m. Both meetings will be held in Mr. Dickerson’s classroom. Jostens will be delivering ring orders on December 19th at 8:00 a.m. in the commons. If you have not paid for your ring order in FULL you will need to bring the amount due with you. All Juniors need to bring $30 for Freshman dues. This is for your prom point policy and they were never collected as Freshman. This can be paid to Jill in the office and must be paid by Christmas break. Plattsburg wrestling fundraiser is now active. Yearbook: Time’s running out to buy your yearbook! Yearbook basics are only $50. Pick up an order form at the High School office or Mr. Fosters Room. Don’t wait – yearbook sales end at the semester! Senior ad order forms will be in the office shortly, if you have any questions you can contact Kim Longwell or Mr. Foster. The order form is attached to this email. FINALS INFORMATION In order to OPT OUT of finals you must meet the following criteria: 1. 97% or higher overall attendance for 1st semester. 2. B- or higher grade in the class 3. If you are eligible to opt out of finals you may still take finals to increase your grade, but it will NOT hurt your grade. •Finals will be given on the last two full days of the semester (December 17th & 18th). The schedule for Finals is: ◦December 17th - 1st Hour, 3rd Hour, 5th Hour, 7th Hour. ◦December 18th - 2nd Hour, 4th Hour, 6th Hour. •The grade and attendance cut off for Finals was on December 11th. ◦Any missed days after December 11th will go towards next semesters attendance & your eligibility for opting out of finals for next semester. ◦If you are eligible to opt out of finals you may choose not to come to school. Unless you job shadow, any day you are not at school will counted against your attendance, both overall and A+ attendance. •Job Shadow forms are in the office. You must sign up in the office if you plan on doing job shadowing and Mr. McMains MUST approve all job shadowing prior to you doing so. Lost & Found: Our lost and found is growing rapidly! There are numerous items including coats, jackets, sweatshirts, hats, gloves, keys and more. If there is anything that you cant find or would like to look through it please stop by the office. All items will be donated before winter break. Please see the attached flyer for Shopko. They will donate up to $2,000 to our school district for every signature received Nov 30-Dec 24. No purchase or donation required. You may sign up once a day, every day. Each signature counts towards a $1 donation! In the event of an unscheduled late start, you will be notified by usual means such as local television stations, textcaster and the school website. The two hour late start will apply to every week day. Therefore, the starting time at Middle School and High School will be 10:22 a.m. and at Ellis 10:28 a.m. no matter which day the late start occurs, even Wednesday. Reminders: *Wednesdays are late start and school begins at 9:16 am. Students should not arrive prior to 9:00 am on Wednesdays. *Students driving a vehicle to school need to have a car registration form filled out and a car tag. *If you have not signed up for text caster, our school notification system, you can do so from our school website at ccr3.k12.mo.us.
