Play Is Safe This Halloween- Costumes Look for costumes, masks, bears and wigs labeled "Flame Resistant" Make or buy costumes light and bright enough to be clearly visible to motorist. Reflective tape works well on costumes and bags. Costumes should be short enough to prevent children from falling. Children should wear well-fitting, sturdy shoes. Hats, helmets and scarves should be secure to keep them from interfering with the kids vision. Use makeup in place of mask. If they must wear a mask, make sure it fits securely and the eyeholes are large enough to allow full vision.
