Played For Both Clubs: Blackpool v Wolves: John Burridge. After starting his professional career at his hometown club Workington, John Burridge got his real breakthrough when signing for top division Blackpool in their relegation season of 1970-71. Burridge played 134 games for the Tangerines over four seasons, before getting a move back to the top flight at Villa Park when signed by Ron Saunders. Burridge played for an endless list of clubs during an illustrious career in which he played in over 700 English and Scottish league games. John arrived at Molineux in 1982 from Queens Park Rangers and was an ever present in his first season during which Wolves won promotion back to Division One, along with his former club. He even grabbed a chance to add further credence to his crazy tag when wearing a Superman outfit in the final game of that 82-83 season at home to Newcastle to win a bet with Kevin Keegan. During this period not many players stayed at Molineux for very long and after two seasons fans favourite Budgie was on his way once more to Sheffield United. Burridge is always remembered fondly by most football fans and he is now a TV pundit based in Dubai and can be found on Twitter as @thebudgietweets and amusingly claims himself to be the greatest goalkeeper the world has never seen.
