Player review on Inter County All Ireland Chrissie Byrne (Kildare Ladies) A look back at The National Inter County Championships 2014 - from the Kildare Ladies perspective. First of all I would like to pay tribute to Tullamore Pitch & Putt club on a memorable hosting of this great championship. There was no stone left unturned on the run up to and including the event itself. From the welcome we received from the members on practice days and on the weekend itself to the catering, refreshments bar, scoreboards, the lads taking scores to the immaculate course (where there wasnt a blade of grass out of place), they really proved to be exceptional hosts. Well done Tullamore. Hopefully well be back for championships in the near future. Congratulations to the Cork and Clare gents on super wins. Cork yet again proved they are a class outfit while Clare proved unanimous popular winners of the B division. Its reintroduction is definitely a positive pitch & putt can take from 2014. Hopefully there is no reason why it cant be introduced back into the ladies game and bring with it the return of Down, Westmeath, Waterford, Clare, Kerry and Limerick. It would be a small step in the right direction for ladies pitch & putt to see these counties emerge and compete again. Finally I would like to congratulate my teammates on a superb united performance. The team spirit was burning and all the paractice hard work paid off. The sportmanship between all the counties over the weekend was second to none and all those taking part should take pride in that. Well done Mary, Mairead, Margaret, Marian and Tara. Very proud champions ⛳
