Plea Directly from Positive Paws Rescue Transport ... I have 4 of their transport pups in my home right now. They paid their first vaccines, dewormer and gave us a big ole bag of food. They were not healthy enough for transport so they have helped support them in foster until the were plump and healthy and ready to leave They could have plopped them in a van and pushed them out the door, but instead they have supported them in foster until they were stronger. They head out on Saturday to CO! Positive Paws has consistently been running transports for years. We cover some of the vetting cost for each dog on transport as well as purchasing neopar vaccines for transport dogs. We have let other groups go to our vet on our dime, paying for parvo tests, exam fees, skin tests, etc... all these costs add up. We have had at least a dozen dogs tagged for transport that have been left with us due to illness or behavioral issues that others could not deal with. On several occasions we have had other rescues or transport groups find out that a dog is sick with a treatable condition and tell us to simply euthanize it for them. We have refused on many occasions and covered the cost for treatment (as well as euthanasia) from our own pockets. We have asked for reimbursement and been refused. Still we somehow manage to keep up our transport schedule and make sure every dogs who is treatable gets a chance to be treated. This results in our costs not being met each month and our vet bill keeps getting higher and higher. Yet we are finding it increasingly difficult to raise the funds to meet our monthly budget. We have not met our budget in almost 4 months and each month the amount we raise gets lower and lower. If its not obvious, this cannot continue. If we cant keep paying our van payment, insurance payments, repair costs, as well as our vet bills... we will lose our van, our insurance and our whole ability to run transports at all. This is an SOS that if you like the work that Positive Paws Rescue Transport does and you want to see it continue... If you appreciate that we have saved over 2000 shelter animals and counting... without bias of breed, health, or where they came from...then please help us.
