Pleas For Paws is a PARTNER As many of you already know, Pleas for Paws is a small group by design and by choice. There are only two active people at the helm. Two people with full time jobs and busy lives. After years of doing rescues on our own, we came together for Pleas for Paws and over the past year, we have been diving headfirst; at times, driving ourselves crazy, losing our energy and our minds but never our passion! Through all the challenges and rewards, our true identity has emerged: Pleas for Paws is a PARTNER. The most effective, rewarding, sane rescues we have accomplished have been the ones done in collaboration with the community and concerned individuals. With no physical shelter, a handful of reliable volunteers and very little money, we can still make a difference by helping the people who agree to partner with us. As a personal philosophy, I always believed in helping those who help themselves and I have discovered that this philosophy is also very relevant in the animal rescue world. Our group has fantastic members. I have noticed lately that some of the pleas for help on our page have been answered and resolved by the members themselves, without Jackie or I having to jump in and THAT makes me so proud, so incredibly proud of this community. Of course we do wish that we could just take on all the homeless and/or suffering animals but as we all know, it is not only unrealistic but also unfair to expect that of us... but together, together we can do a LOT of good! Partners.
