I want to encourage your labor organization and its rank and file to join us this weekend for a great cause. The residents of the Albany Bulb need union support to resist being evicted. Many of the resident are working class and poor people who cannot afford to keep up with the high rent and food prices in the Bay. In fact, the city of Albany has no affordable housing or other resources for the working class and poor. By participating you will see the lives of these people matter and that autonomy and wildlife of the Albany Bulb will give you a sense of freedom and liberation in world where the working class and the Earth are being attacked by the Corporations. It is my opinion that we all must stand together in solidarity with one another and resist. This weekend I hope to see participants from the broader labor community because the unions have the power to stop this project. We will be screening the American Premier of the film Rocking the Foundations which details a very effective model of direct action to undermine the bureaucrats, horizontalize our unions, unite the working class. They successfully defended their community from gentrification, police violence, and environmental destruction. If we learn from these tactics and come together to strategize, we may effectively revive this model and defend the Bay Area from the attacks of the government and corporations! It is my opinion that the working class in the Bay Area must stand together in Solidarity and fight the developments that are destroying our communities.
