Please Help Us Save Edgars Legs! Edgar was picked up as a stray in a gas station parking lot on July 2, 2014 on the West Bank of Jefferson Parish. Some nice folks who found him brought him to the shelter. He wasnt using his back legs at all. He would still get around on his 2 front legs and dragging his hind legs behind him. He was sent to the vet to do X-rays to see what was wrong. He appears to have a bulge in one of his discs and he needs an orthopedic specialist to further diagnose the problem. Hes been on prednisone for a week and hes starting to use one of his back legs but still dragging the other. South Paws Veterinary Specialists gave me an estimate of $3000 to do the procedure to hopefully clear out the bulge and restore the nerves sending signals to his legs. But the longer we wait, the more nerve damage. She said the sooner the better. So please help me raise the money over the weekend so I can take Edgar to the Specialist on Monday, July 14th! I am his foster mom, Rachel. I volunteer at the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter and take pictures there and have a super soft spot for dachshunds. I am a full time college student and work only part time so I need help saving Edgars Legs! Thank you so much for your support!
