Please PRAY for Camp Illiana, one of our sister camps in southern Indiana and the family of David Bean, Camp Director of Illiana. He was tragically killed this morning in a tree removal accident. The following is a post from Camp Illiana facebook page. Camp Illiana has been given a very tough trial by GOD today that we must come together in order to persevere. It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you that we have lost a dear brother in Christ, David Bean, on this day. Unfortunately, David was involved in a work related accident that claimed his life. It is important to inform you that no campers or other staff members have been harmed in the accident that occurred. Campers were taking part in classes indoors on the other side of the campground. David Bean was not only the director of Camp Illiana, but also a dear friend to everyone associated with this Camp. He served Camp Illiana and GOD in every way he could and to the absolute best of his ability. David helped Camp Illiana achieve its mission to change the lives of the youth and bring them to Christ. David dedicated his life to serving GOD and we can say with full confidence that heaven is welcoming in a great man. We ask that you send your prayers, support, and words of encouragement toward Camp Illiana, but most importantly the Bean family. It is our duty to inform you of this tragic loss in order to eliminate any misinformation that may have circulated. We thank you so much for your support and understanding in this time of need. If we come together as a unified Camp Illiana family, we are stronger than any one individual. Let us join together to provide the support and care that is needed by many at this time. We have been diligently calling all of the families of the campers to inform them of this tragic event. Camp Illiana is giving all family members the opportunity to come to the campsite to check on their camper and take them home if need be. Campers have been informed of the situation and activities are resuming as normal in terms departure date for Junior High 2. Camp will run until Friday with pickup being at 3pm Eastern Standard Time. Please be courteous with our office as phone lines are all occupied in the effort to contact campers’ families. Phone calls may not be answered due to this circumstance. We thank you all for your patience and support as we mourn the loss of our Camp Director, David Bean.
