Here is what I just posted on the FNP fb page ( https://facebook/fredericknewspost ). It goes to a sidebar on the left where others have started posting as well. Have you objected yet to their withholding of information to our citizens? What the FNP and Bethany Rodgers fail to understand is that this is NOT about signs, this is about BULLYING and the character of those who are running. Just days after finding out he had been found out and charged with Malicious Destruction by the State Police, Avery becomes an even BOLDER bully! This after Jan Gardner took the high road and dropped the charges. And you say you may write about it AFTER the election?! Really?!!! Doesnt the public have a right to know? I just had another ugly encounter with Adam Avery, Blaine Youngs chief campaign sign man and thug. Avery was recently linked to the malicious destruction of a Gardner sign in a state police report after dropping his cell phone adjacent to the damage. A large number of our signs just happened to be destroyed that evening. This evening, I went to another location to restore a damaged sign and took some photos. One photograph shows two sets of tire tracks where one of our large signs has been destroyed twice. I was repairing that sign when Avery drives by and shouts taunts at me. The second photograph shows a sign recently posted by Avery just a foot in front of one of our signs. I left it up because it speaks volumes about the other guy who must feel so concerned about losing that he thinks putting a sign a foot in front of one of ours will convince people that he is worthy of leadership. After finishing the repair just before dark, I get home tonight to help hand out candy to the children as part of trick or treat, when a friend called to say that the sign I had repaired just ninety minutes earlier is now destroyed once again. This is the kind of person with whom Young surrounds himself. Do we want leadership in county government with a fondness for property destruction, confrontation, and intimidation? Frederick County deserves much better. John H. Gardner This newspaper is doing a serious disservice to our citizens by withholding information. In doing so, you become part of the problem and part of the story. Isnt that a rule of journalism...to not become the story?! It has become a sad day in Frederick County. Valerie Dale
