Please Saturday, September 20, 2014 A prayer for all who deal with CRPS, and other chronic pain conditions. There are days Lord, even weeks when all I know to say, all we know to pray is “Please.” Please break the cycle, pain causing exhaustion causing pain; please give us a break, and lift the pain for just a few hours. Please give us patience, as we wait for medicine to work; grant us endurance, when the medicine doesn’t work. Please help those who love us, in their fear and frustration; because there is nothing to do, no way to help except being here. Please help them to realize how much their presence helps; and spare them the extra strength this disease demands of them. Lord, it is so difficult to think straight when the pain is unrelenting; so we don’t even know what we should be praying for. Forbid that we feel sorry for ourselves, help us to love fully, without reserve; forbid that we give up on you, on life, help us see the beauty all around us. It is so hard to keep our chin up, to tough it out, take it like a man; please, Lord, we are in fact, only human, with frail bodies that sometimes fail us.
