Please allow me to blow your mind. I like blowing the mind because it teaches the natural mind the lesson that it does not know everything. In fact it helps to teach it that even what it thinks it knows, it only knows in part. So here we go. Lets establish this one thing, God is outside of time. He sees the whole of time all as if it were in the present tense. He sees you enjoying worship in Heaven a million years from now, and He sees the beginning of all creation before His view right now. Jesus is the manifestation of the eternal God, come in the flesh. Jesus is the GOD-MAN. He is not half God, and half man, but fully God and fully man. This is possible, because God himself at the physical birth of Christ took upon Himself the additional nature of man. God who is Spirit, prepared a body for Himself and that body died and was resurrected as a body that is now eternal. At the resurrection we too will be given a glorified eternal body, just like the one He has now. Are you ready for the mind blowing concept? In Genesis we see the creation of the first man. The scripture tells us that he was created in the image and likeness of God. Because we see things from a perspective of time, we say that this God described in the old testament had no physical form but is Spirit. We therefore assume that being created in His image and likeness must only be taken figuratively. We say that this means only that we were created with similar characteristics of His nature. For example, like God, we are given the ability to create, to love, to imagine, to reason, etc. This is true but you will find it difficult when looking at the Hebrew meaning of the words image and likeness,to escape the meaning that includes physical form. So how does one reconcile such thinking? Try this on for size ; before God ever formed Adam, He already knew that Adam would fall and that God Himself would be the only one who could save Him. God created Adam to have fellowship with Him. God knew that the only way to save Him would involve His incarnation in the same form as the man.... This God who sits outside time, designed for Himself a body.... God designed this body to be something that was not disposable, but something that would be a tangible representation of Himself for all eternity. God designed for Himself a body, a prototype from which all others would be made. His body is the body of Christ, the very image and likeness of God, with the fulness of Gods Spirit contained within. So couldnt it look like this ; First God designed Himself a physical form to manifest in this natural world and that design was the very body of Christ. Then in the fulness of time, God said, Now it is time to start the creation clock and bring into existence the realm of the natural world. In this natural world I will place my most treasured creation of all, and I will call him man. It is with Him that I will start my eternal family, and that first man will be made after the original design that I prepare to inhabit myself. In that form, He and I will fellowship for eternity as a Father with His sons and daughters. In fact, I will create him in the same image and likeness and after the same pattern in which I have chosen for myself before all creation was formed.... You may or may not agree, but if I have at least inspired you to study it more carefully for yourself, then I have accomplished a very good thing. Love you all.
