** Please always consult with your doctor prior to starting any new diet or lifestyle change ** Whilst this diet does state that a 500 calorie diet is best for optimum results, we realistically should be aiming for a loss of approximately 1kg per week. I would say that you could be comfortable on a daily calorie intake of approximately 1000-1500 calories per day! In saying the above statement, I thought that 500 calories per day was ridiculously low when I started, but it is totally do-able without feeling lethargic!
