Please be advised that the Bureau of Meteorology have predicted possible Extreme Weather Conditions for Friday 7th March 2014. DFES will monitor conditions with respect to Total Fire Bans. Please monitor local conditions and check the Bureau of Meteorology site for updatedinformation. On Friday, a deep surface trough will lie near the west coast. During the day the trough will move inland with an associated NE to NW wind change under the influence of an approaching cold front. Very hot temperatures, 38-42Cnear and east of the trough coupled with low relative humiditys (10-15% min)and gusty NE/NW winds (30-45km/h with 50-70km/h gusts) will cause Very High to Extreme fire weather conditions for parts of the Inland Central West, Central Wheat Belt, inland Lower West and northern parts of the Great Southern. At this stage The most likelyworst affected areas in the SW Land division will be inland Central West andCentral Wheat Belt east of a line Mullewa to York to Narrogin to Southern Cross. The models have been fairlyconsistent with the kinds of conditions leading to the adverse fire conditions (winds, temp, humidity etc), however the exact location of the trough on Friday is the most uncertain factor in this situation. Some variation in the likely worst affected area may exist over the coming days. -Shire of Yilgarn
