Please be aware that the Healing of Families event has been postponed. Fr. Michael (Clement) has written a brief letter explaining: Tuesday, January 20th, 2015 – Feast of Sts. Fabian and Sebastian, martyrs My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, Peace of Jesus in your heart and on your lips! A year ago, when I together with our parish team at Our Lady of Good Counsel began to look at the possibility of offering “The Healing of Families” by Fr. Yosefu, it was partly based on my own experience of healings that our Lord was working in the lives of individuals to whom I would recommend to read the book and do the prayer service together, but it was also based upon a conversation and recommendation I had with a priest friend here in the States that had offered a mission in his own parish. Since then, it has become clear that there is some ambiguity and even confusion about the book, “The Healing of Families” including a letter from Fr. Yosefu’s bishop stating that the bishop has ordered an investigation to clear up and rectify any possible theological errors in the book. I have also spoken with my priest friend who had held the mission, and he advises, in light of the bishop’s letter, that prudence would have us postpone the initiative until the competent authority can make a judgment. Fr. John and my thinking are in agreement: let’s wait until there is clarity about the soundness of all aspects of the book before we place it into people’s hands and lead them through it as a parish family.
