Please do not misunderstand this post. I am not putting my children down in the least. I am however putting down the school system. As some of you know I have decided to home school my kids this year. I am shocked to learn that my 9th grader can barely do 8th grade math, simple adding, subtracting, muliplying and dividing fractions. And my 7th grader is struggling with 6th grade simple adding multiple numbers and multiplying!!! What have they been teaching my children? Could it be that common core math is so confusing, they just arent getting it? Could it be that they spend so much time teaching them to test, that they are falling behind? I really dont know the answer, but I do know that Im glad that I have decided to homeschool!
