Please donate right now and help us modernize medical training and prevent animals from dying in these courses! In many Advanced Trauma Life Support programs, doctors still cut holes into the necks of dogs, pigs, goats, and sheep; stab the sacs surrounding the animals hearts with needles; and cut into their abdomens with scalpels before finally killing them. By making a special gift today, youll help us raise the $120,000 needed to buy modern training simulators to replace the use of animals in medical training for doctors in these six countries, who are eager to use this lifesaving technology. Unlike with small, fur-covered four-legged animals, these simulators replicate human anatomy—including realistic layers of skin and tissue, ribs, and internal organs. The simulator allows trainees to practice surgical procedures repeatedly until theyre confident and proficient—a sharp contrast to cutting into live animals, in which there are no do-overs. Studies have found that people whove trained using TraumaMan perform better than those whove trained on animals. Through the generosity of compassionate supporters like you, earlier this year PETA was able to donate TraumaMan simulators and completely replace the use of animals in all ATLS courses in Bolivia, Costa Rica, Egypt, Iran, Jordan, Mexico, Mongolia, Panama, and Trinidad and Tobago. The addition of Cyprus, Greece, and Pakistan to this growing list could potentially save thousands of animals! Please give generously right now, and help us raise $120,000 so that we can send simulators to replace animals in more parts of the globe! Dogs, pigs, goats, and sheep are waiting for your help.
