Please don’t forget to vote for the Community Matters Team on March 25th, 26th & 27th. Please bring a friend when you go vote starting tomorrow! Our priorities & platform: 1 - CONNECTING CONCORDIA COMMUNITIES:: a) Making the CSU more relevant to CSU student groups (clubs, societies, fee-levies, member association, faculties). b) Acting as a facilitator to CSU clubs, by taking the time to meet with them to ensure that their events are all that they can be. c) developing policy that allows for Fine Arts clubs (FASA) and Engineers Societies (ECA) to access CSU funds that they pay into: communitymatters-csu.ca/demystifying-the-student-space-accessible-education-legal-contingency-fund/ d) Supporting our community members by opposing the Charter of Values of Quebec. e) Recognizing that our biggest strength is working with campus organizations. f) We are deeply involved with 5 campus fee-levy organizations, in some cases as founders. g) We will continue to plan congresses, one for the winter and one for the fall semester, like the one our VP Academic helped organize this year: thelinknewspaper.ca/article/5659 2 - SUSTAINABLE STUDENT FOOD a) we’ve already fundraised easily over $80,000 for student-run food projects on campus (Hive Cafe, Hall building Cafe, etc). b) 3 of us are co-founders of the Concordia Food Coalition (CFC), a not-for-profit with the mandate to localize and democratize the food-system at Concordia. c) We will host another conference geared towards building a student-run food-system, like our president has already organized, from farm to plate: thelinknewspaper.ca/article/5460 d) We will start developing a Loyola Greenhouse (the SC building has already been tested and can support a greenhouse!) e) We will create an incentive structure that will create avenues for other Concordia student groups -- faculty associations, fee-levy groups -- to have funding for student-run food-system projects --> there is a referendum question on the ballot asking students for permission to move forward in this way! communitymatters-csu.ca/incentives-for-growth-a-policy-solution-for-food-system-development/ 3 - TRANSPARENT, ACCESSIBLE FINANCES a) Breaking down the budget into comprehensive parts (with stylish graphics!) b) Ensuring that our budget and financial information is online. c) We already have our document online to demystify the largest bank accounts of the CSU communitymatters-csu.ca/demystifying-the-student-space-accessible-education-legal-contingency-fund/ d) Our campaign budget was posted online on day one of the campaign. e) Using our funds in a way that maximize the benefits to Concordia Students. f) Working with clubs in an accessible transparent manner.
