As we speak, my mother is now teaching her neighbor how to crochet squares as she wanted to join in also. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROJECT AND SQUARES WILL BE SEWN AND/OR CROCHETED TOGETHER AND DELIVERED TO THE NEEDY. THERE IS NO TIME FRAME - JUST MAKE A SQUARE AND SEND IT ON IN!! Crochet Charity Blanket Video Tutorial at youtu.be/IQWVGkEKorA Written Instructions: HOW TO MAKE AND DONATE A SQUARE Materials Required: U.S. Medium Worsted Weight (category 4) or AUS 10 ply 100% acrylic yarn. (My square is made with Red Heart With Love Yarn). Use any color yarn you like. Please only use these thickness of yarns otherwise it will be difficult to sew the blanket with different sized squares. And only make the 20 rows. Thank you. xx US I9 (5.5mm) crochet hook Blanket Square Measurements: 8 inches/20 cms wide x 8 inches/20 cms long Written Instructions: Note: ch 2 does NOT count as a stitch. Leave a long yarn tail that can be used to sew with. Ch 28. Row 1: 1 hdc into 3rd ch from the hook, 1 hdc into each ch st across to the end. (26 sts) Row 2: ch 2, turn, 1 hdc into the same space as the ch-2, 1 hdc into each st across to the end, making last hdc into the last hdc st (NOT into the top of the ch-2). Rows 3 to 20: Repeat Row 2. Finish off leaving a long yarn tail that can be used to sew with.
