Please forgive me if my memory is failing. That happens with us old people, you know. But, way back in the wonderful Bush years, it seems to me that, every time “W”’s approval rating dropped a fraction of a point, the flags from “Der Departmenter das Homelandisch Securitischer” went from yellow to orange. “Be afraid, be very afraid!” Then, the minute his ratings went up a smidge, they returned to yellow. That lasted until the ”whatever” factor rendered them useless. Now, fast -forward to the current stink over the NSA being all up in your phone calls, Facebook, and other personal bidness. Senators, with a constant finger in the air to test which way the wind is blowing, harrumphed, exhibited shock and disbelief, and finally summoned the NSA to ‘splain itself. Then they adjourned for a much need vacation. Now, suddenly, we have the most credible report of impending attack since 911 itself ( Which was ignored by the “W”, but that’s another story.)! “Be afraid, be very afraid!” Embassies closed their doors all over the world and we’re all still holding our breath. I’m not saying that the NSA being called on the carpet and the advent of this greatest terror alert since 911 have anything to do with each another. It’s probably just a coincidence……….
