Please help preserve Khmer Culture: Robam kuoh trolaok, the Coconut Folk Dance as performed in the late sixties. The dance is being performed after the Harvesting Season, when Farming is completed and work in the rice field are done, as the cool and windy season starts on, kicking off the Wedding Season as this dance is also performed during wedding ceremonies to entertain guests. The melody is in fact inspired from a wedding music. It is the time when young boys and girls got to meet up and it is also a way to somewhat start a romance, and where parents look on to check to which girl their son has a crush on, so they can start the elaborate ritual to Sohm Phlov Daeur, Chandaeur Laeung (we kindly request the path to walk through, and the stairs to climb on)... but this is another story! (to be continued ;-)
