This will be my 2nd NYS Humane Lobby Day. It is a great day, when you know you are making a difference. Slowly but surely, several animal welfare laws have been developed, enhanced and implemented in the course of our active involvement. Of course theres so much more that needs to be accomplished. The three issues we will be lobbying on this year are the Consolidated Animal Crimes Bill (pulling cruelty laws out of Ag and Markets statutes and putting them under the criminal codes - where they belong). banning gestation crates and veal crates in NY, and ending the sale of ivory in NYS, which will help protect elephants.
