Please join me tonight at 6:30pm for a slow and sweet session of hip-opening steeped in forward folds under the full moon in honor of Guru Purnima. Guru Purnima occurs on the full moon in the month of Ashad of the Hindu calendar. It is traditionally a time to reflect and give thanks for our teachers. For those of you interested, here is what came to me as I reflected on Guru Purnima this morning: Guru Purnima- A time to reflect and soak in and shine out gratitude for our teachers- those who not only dispel darkness, but who also shine light into the depths of our darkness so we can face it head (or heart) on. These people, circumstances, and realizations come to us in many different forms. They are in our selves in our deepest heart of hearts and everyone all around us. Sometimes we are taught with great love and compassion, sometimes with excruciating pain, but the end goal is the same. The point is to open our eyes, and minds, and hearts and to walk towards instead of run away- no matter how many times you stumble or how harrowing the path becomes. I humbly bow to all my teachers today with the deepest gratitude, respect, and love. Thank you. I especially am grateful for my Guru, Ma, whom I love with all my heart. Thank you for fanning the flames of this heart and for teaching me how to stand in the fire no matter what. xo, Neda
