Please know that I am anti horse slaughter. While I do understand the repeated pleas for slaughter out of desperation for unwanted, neglected abused horses that is not what I see the meat buyers grabbing every month at auction! I watch them out bid homes and rescues for healthy heavy, horses that are often trained and easy to handle. So while the anti slaughter people blow smoke up your bum with words they broker too or where would the horses go , the kill buyers endlessly load up healthy riding animals and straight ship them to slaughter. Now some of them sell off horses under the words of bailing and saving them ... have you seen a trend in these horses being ill, lame, smaller breeds, younger horses or very old horses?? Yes so have I. Often they broker the horses they can not ship or would have to be driven to Mexico for less money. Most often at auction I can tell which horses will end up on a feed lot with a bail on their head. For the chance to save a horse, you must stay quiet, kiss butt, but every one will pat your back for a job well done. Now some of you are amazing and take on these horses where they are at and keep them forever. I see many of these horses not receiving the needed care (that might have landed them on the feed lot). Then I often see some one say I saved him but he must go now, because I can not feed him O.O - Please if you have a heart to save a horse first make sure you plan for long term care, what if the horse is lame or sick? He might have penis cancer are you ready? Then look through the ads for a horse than needs you, go to your local auction, support your local rescue that fights for horses to be safe from slaughter and from abuse and neglect. I can not tell you how much even a $5 donation means to a horse rescue, so much more than If I had money and land I would save one You can help save one!! Support rescues !!
