Please make me anonymous Im a fiance and a mother of 4 and expecting another one. Im at breaking point in my life where i just want to give up. I havent worked in three years bout recently obtained a job. This is not making ends meet. My fiance cant work cause of a serious back injury. We are evicted from our one bedroom apartment witn no where to go but a shelter. Where im scared to be cause my oldest daughter father is going to take her away. I start school april 30th majoring in criminal justice is there any other options. The government is not helping with anything. God please i need help MY RESPONSE: This breaks my heart on so many levels. And while I could try to sugarcoat reality, it does not make any sense for me to do it. Here are the issues: 1. Your daughters father is not wrong to prefer to take custody of his child instead of allowing her to live in a shelter. If he is a fit parent, you may not have any choice and it does not have to be forever. I cannot fault a man for desiring to step up to a plate. People would talk trash about any many who is capable and would allow his children to be in a shelter. 2. I am curious as to how long your fiance has had a back injury. I do not understand why you would get pregnant with a fifth child when you had not job for several years and he has no income, at least at the moment. The only reason that I bring this up is to hopefully encourage you to not repeat this situation again until you are well established in your career. 3. There is one thing to expect someone to take in a woman and several children and another matter to expect someone to take in a woman, kids, and a man. Granted, he cannot work but there is still a stigma there about the entire thing. I commend you for starting school and my only suggestion is to call every government agency, church, or nonprofit organization in the area and see if you can get some help, even if you have to piece meal the things that they can do together.
