The decision to let Louisa breed was made as it would not be of any detriment to her welfare and health as her condition was stable and showed no signs of suffering. She was raising four cubs successfully. A coalition breakdown occurred between Hugo and Henry which Loisa got caught up in or even wanted to raise her cubs as a nomadic not being a sister relative of the other three females. This is normal behaviour in Lion society and cubs within a pride add new stresses too. But being captive surrounded in fence normal behaviour could not happen, this is where sound management comes in and must be held accountable in their duty to care. Due to the inexperience of the new Lion management warning signs, which must have been in occurrence before the event was ignored, not listened to or reacted to, making preparations and separating. The result was severe wounds to Henry. Due to Louisas involvement it was blamed on her condition to try and hide the facts, revenge was sought, leading to Louisas and four cubs euthanasia. Callous? that would be correct. I have witnessed the callous decisions made by this Lion manager: The use of an electric prod on a bull giraffe. Beating a herd of Nyala with an eight foot water pipe meant for keeper defense. Herman the Water Buffalo treated for severe wounds to the leg caused by rutting Bacterian Camel, Kahn chewing on his leg. His keeper carer were refrained from seeing him during this time, when Herman was cured, he was euthanased due to being surplus. Babs and Ryishia, two Bacterian Camels suffering from arthritis and being treated were both shot in the head and fed to the Lions despite the pleas from the keepers who worked with them and knew them well thought they could at least enjoy the coming summer after surviving well through the winter, accessing before winter. They limped of course and Babs had lost condition through winter, they moved well with the herd and was enjoying the spring grass. I dont think I need to go on any further. He also has many motives to want to do Longleat harm, the evidence and history is unfolding and repeating in front of their eyes, yet they do not see or listen. They stand by him and support him from within, just as they did when I made my formal complaints.
