Please read the whole post. Today I have had a real taste of how disgusting and classless some people can be. Let me say this, if you do not support our military, if you do not appreciate what the brave men and women in our nations military go through to keep our country safe and free and non-communist, that is your rightful opinion. Though I may not necessarily agree with your views, I will not judge you and I will not condem you for such views. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and should be allowed to freely express their beliefs without repercussions (if said beliefs do not involve the condoning of illegal activities). Now on that note, I am very proud of our military. I am very proud to support them. And most of all, I am very proud to be engaged to an Army solider and very proud of all friends and family members of mine who are/have served. Whether you agree with my position on that matter or not, disagreeing under no circumstances constitutes for the tasteless and downright hateful behavior I received this morning on my way to work. I was stopped at a red light and an older gentleman in a white Miata with a black rag top was stopped at the light on my passenger side. He waved his arms out of his window to get my attention so I rolled down my window to see what his problem was. He started off by saying, Hey I like you Army Girlfriend sticker on your window. I said thank you. What he said next had me dumbfounded. He continued to say, and I quote, No f**k you, you dirty whore, you should be ashamed of yourself. I said nothing. I simply rolled up my window and drove off when the light turned. Had I not been in the car I probably would have said something in return but I was not willing to risk the lives of others or myself on the road had he decided to let road rage get the best of him. A fellow American. A man who is only still free and able to do what he does on a daily basis as a free man because of our military personnel. I am offended. I am disgusted. As I said before, if you have opinions that differ from others that is fine and you are more than welcome to express that to me at any time. Im a big girl. I can take it if someone doesnt agree with me. But be polite. Be courteous. Dont be that guy. He should be ashamed of himself for talking to another person like that. I will continue to proudly display my love and support for this countrys military whether you like it or not. There should be no reason for anyone to be scared or ashamed to support such amazing men and women. So to the old guy in the white Miata: Im sorry you feel that way and God bless you. Also, may you be the last to be saved when this country goes down and youre in dire need of the militarys help for your life.
