Please refer to my most recent post. I am attaching a few pictures to give you a flavour of what I saw in a small part of Srinagar. The pictures include shots of: 1. Area near Bone and Joint Hospital (taken from Bridge) 2. Hyderpora (after crossing flyover) 3. Hyderpora-Peer Bag 4. Peer Bagh (near Police Headquarters) 5. View of Airport Road near Cooperative Colony 6. Railway Bridge 7. Humhama Chowk from a distance 8. Humhama Chowk with people watching the lone tipper truck that I was taking pictures from. As you can see, it was a treacherous journey. But there are parts of Srinagar that are in worse shape. But not all is bad. I saw many parts of Rawal Pora, Sanat Nagar, Barzulla, Parray Pora which were free of flood waters on September 8. Also, when I took off from Srinagar Airport towards Delhi, I could see that many parts were NOT covered by water. Of course, as the plane went up and further South, it was difficult to see the ground given cloud cover. That is where South Kashmir is and I am still not sure exactly what is going on there. The government has said some parts are cut-off. Will try to get people that information as soon as I hear something definitive.
