Please share in memory of Bobo. SAD ANNIVERSARY FOR DOT Today it is one year since HUME CITY COUNCIL murdered Bobo. Bobo was wrongly declared a restricted breed by Hume City Council and his owner appealed to VCAT. He lost the VCAT hearing, and then with the financial backing of a few of us, he then applied to appeal to the Supreme Court. Unfortunately, Bobos owner gave up and surrendered Bobo to the council just 10 days prior to the actual Supreme Court Appeal. He was, we believe, wrongly informed that he had no hope of winning his Supreme Court Appeal. We were always confident he would win. As time has passed, it has become very obvious to us that he would have won, and quite easily. For those who were not with us at the time and may not be unaware of Bobos story, we will post the whole story in a separate post in the next few days. His owner should not have been put in the position of having to make this decision, as BSL should not exist. It is a useless system, and as we all know actually puts the community at more risk regarding dog attacks and incidents. A dogs aggression just cant be judged on that dogs appearance. A dogs breed, also can not be judged on appearance alone either. These two points are scientific facts. This is something the Victorian Government and Councils have forgotten to tell the Victorian public. Hume City Council would have to be one of the worse councils in Victoria for declaring dogs incorrectly as Restricted Breeds. At present there are quite a few owners waiting to go to VCAT against Hume CC. (More on those cases later on) We will never forget Bobo, and we will never forget what this murdering council did. We thank all of our supporters who at the time fought so hard to try and save our boy Bobo, with all the letters to Hume Council and the Members of Parliament. Bobo was murdered at Lost Dogs Home in North Melbourne who are one of the biggest supporters of Breed Specific Legislation in our State, and one of the major reasons we have this crooked failing system in the first place.
