Please take a minute to read... My heart is very heavy this evening for the family of the journalist whose life was demanded of him by pure evil because he was American. Ive continued to pray for the thousands of Christians who are hiding and fleeing for their lives and their childrens lives because they follow Christ. Im baffled at our countries lack of action to help when these evildoers have made threats against us and have now taken the life of one of our own. Nic Francis and I have been praying for all the families and Christians in hiding but we want to do more. He called one of our favorite charities today The Voice of the Martyrs - USA. They could not reveal much information for fear of the safety of their representatives, but told him that they are currently aiding 1000 Christians who are in hiding. They would like to do more but need more funding. The ALS Ice bucket challenge raised 8.6 Million dollars in ONE DAY!! Think of how much aid we could give and lives we could help save with that kind of funding. What can we do to raise awareness that there IS a way you can help those in hiding? We can pray, we should PRAY but did you know you can give money to VOTM or Samaritans Purse to help feed a starving Christian family in hiding? Can we do an ice bucket challenge for them? A fundraiser would take too long. They need help TONIGHT! I love the awareness the ice bucket challenge is spreading and I think we need something similar to remind people to pray and to give if they can. Its reminded us to be more intentional. Hug your kids a little tighter. Be thankful you have a meal in front of you and clean water and that at least for tonight, no one is going to come knocking on your door and drag you off or behead your child because of what you believe. Share this status, tell you neighbor, pray for our brothers and sisters. Do something!!! If anyone has any ideas about raising awareness or raising $$ I would love to hear them.
