Please vote! Dr Brian Moench just got nominated by the Salt Lake Tribune for Utahs 2014 Person of the Year. He is currently in third place behind the couple that sued for gay marriage equality in Utah, and the judge that made the favorable ruling. But he is way ahead of the new black, female, Mormon, Tea Party Congress woman, Mia Love, and the rest of the crowded field. Being the face of the air pollution battle in Utah, if Dr Moench were to win, it would give Utah Physicians for a Healthy Environment an important boost in fund raising, especially as they apply for grants from foundations; it would help them sue more of the evil doers, and it would help solidify the issue of clean air, clean energy, etc. as something that our politicians will have to acknowledge. For those of you only concerned about global warming, the air pollution battle there is intimately tied to whether Utah exploits all of their carbon deposits. Utah has 25 times more buried carbon than Alberta, Canada.
