Please watch a movie our creative team of volunteers have put together! This is the movie with a budget of less than 1000 USD and 7 minutes long made by a group of volunteers – young people of Uzbekistan who felt the need to break the ice of misunderstanding, stigma and discrimination in Uzbekistan. Initially the idea came to the mind of Mels Shaykeev who with his friend Akmal Aliev applied for a small grants launched by UNDP’s ‘Social innovation and volunteerism’ project. Gradually team expanded, first Akmal found Olga Krilova on facebook who generously offered her camera and later drew beautiful picture you see in the movie. Then team met the director of the movie – Anvar Safaev, recently graduated student and he has engaged many more talented students to the work on this movie including art director Guzal Khusanova. Later we met Kamila Akbarova artist whose pencil drawings you see in the movie. We met many people living with HIV and selected a story of a young woman living in Tashkent who wishes to remain unknown. There has been a lot of work, meeting new people, failures and successes but what is more important it was a true team work and we thank each and everybody who supported this initiative and contributed to make this happen.
