PoP - "Girly and kiddish" ?? RocK - "Real flavor" ?? The pop artists tried to give off the impression of being "in the now", while the rock groups always tried to forever mold their music from the generation before them. This is why rock music is so diverse, look at metal and punk, so different, yet spawned from the same roots. Seemed the pop music of any era is the sound that defined the era, however the rock music tend to be more timeless and have greater longevity.
