Pointing Fingers Love people & help them through their struggles. Dont judge them just b/c they sin differently than you do. Read: 1 John 4:8 The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. Sin, judgment, verdicts, conclusions. Why do we judge one another? Why do we point out a person that we see, often someone that we do not even know and jump to a conclusion about them? We say that they’re bad people; we call them out on their failures, we say that they sin. Judgment. It rips relationships apart, it destroys humanity, and it prevents growth. What makes us think that we are in a position to judge another? Who put us in that place to judge other people? If God didnt, who else did? God is the only true judge. By judging others we in fact place ourselves above God. And now that’s evil. How are we okay with judging people just because they sin differently than we do? Come on, we’re all sinners, we all have a past. Weve all done something that we are not proud of. You know if we spent less time judging people, we could spend that much more time praying for them, encouraging them, getting to know them, thanking God for their lives. How much more could we accomplish if we just loved. Now you see it was the Pharisees, and the Sadducees who built walls of judgment, they felt that they were living out the calling of God and being set apart from society was the only way they could see that they could do it. They judged others, they were holy, and everyone else was dirt. In Mathew 7:1 Jesus plainly says. “Do not judge, or you will be judged.” Sometimes we believe as Christians that we’re better than everyone else and we subconsciously build this wall that blocks people out. But in reality it doesnt just block people from our lives, it also blocks Gods blessing that He wants to shower over our lives. Blessings of joy, peace, prosperity, laughter. You miss out on those when youre alone. Weve all sinned; Ive sinned. I fail everyday. But you know the most wonderful thing about a relationship with Jesus Christ is that He doesnt ask us to figure it all out or be perfect. He only asks us to trust in Him. We are broken but in His perfection we are complete and made whole. Everyday is a battle against sin, against negativity, and against the norm. But when you have a relationship with Christ, youre not fighting those battles alone anymore. In His VICTORY on the cross we can find our victory every single day that we live in, in every situation, and under any circumstance. So next time, before we point fingers at someone else in disagreement with what they are doing. Lets ask ourselves how we can help them get out of the struggle that they are in? Were all fighting our own battles. And the thing about battles is that there are seasons where the fighting is tougher than in others. Let us walk in the ways of Christ and try and emulate Him the best that we can. God message to the world was Himself and since God is love His message to us is LOVE. Just love and see what can happen.
