Polar Prowl 5K this am. First race of 2015 to finish my week at 18.29 miles. I was dealing with an upset stomach right up until start time. I ran the whole thing, set a PR and placed third in my division. Only my second time ever placing. Ive felt stronger since the RW winter streak and felt 31 minutes was possible. I didnt get there, but I tried. My hubby and I both placed third in our divisions. Only bad, is we didnt know it and missed most of the awards ceremony and our names being called. Official times: 32:28 for me, 10:29 pace, 3/18 in my division, 29/86 females and 52nd overall. My Garmin had me 3 seconds slower than this. My hubby finished in 28:33, 9:13 pace, 3/7 in his division, 13/32 males and 24th overall. His first race since coming back from PF. Im a slow runner. Mid to back of the pack runner when I race. This completely threw me and has me thinking why not. I lined up with my hubby near the start line and just pushed the pace. Decided to get it over with because I didnt feel well anyway. I used my hubby and several others as my rabbit. Managed to keep him in sight for most of the race. His yellow hoodie at Christmas is working out great. He loves it (his favorite color) and he sticks out in a crowd. I may never place again and thats okay, but Im going to try. I missed standing on the podium and Im a bit miffed. Insult to injury, some guy passed me at the finish line. Last I looked, no one was anywhere near me. 3.11 miles for Meg, Scott & their families, for Mandi and for my team Heart & Sole. #MegsMiles #Heart&Sole
