Police Arrests Two Fathers for Slaughtering Their Kids for Money Rituals.... The Plateau State command of the Nigeria Police has reported the arrest of two men for allegedly slaughtering their kids for money making rituals. The state Commissioner of Police, Chris Olakpe, paraded the suspects before journalists in Jos on September 19, 2013, Thursday. The CP said the suspects would be charged for murder. The first suspect, identified as Fwanmun Habaku, allegedly killed his three-month-old son while the second, Polycarp Danjuman, allegedly killed his two-year-old daughter. Both suspects are being detained at the police headquarters in Jos. The CP also revealed that the arrest of the suspects followed complaints by their suspicious neighbours. After the police conducted the preliminary investigations, it has been discovered that the suspects killed their children to enrich themselves. Both men have admitted to the crimes, but pleaded for mercy. The Plateau police also paraded 15 suspects accused of various offences; and also presented a vehicle stolen in Jos but recovered in Benin Republic. Chris Olakpe assured that criminality would be reduced in the state. He warned that any suspect arrested would not be spared, no matter how highly placed. The CP appealed to the public to cooperate with the police to reduce crime in the state; and urged police officers to intensify their efforts and to make Plateau crime free.
