Police Complaints shared a link. about an hour ago · Edited ------------------BREAKING NEWS----------------- PC Editorial: Can this be true? Well, yes it can be true... APD has a track record of losing evidence and failing to produce evidence, denying defendants legal due process in court cases. We have all heard of recent cases where defendants charged with murder have been set free due to prosecutorial incompetence... On top of that, we have heard many reports that the dark corners of the APD evidence rooms are regularly used as meeting places by APD officers for on the job nature at play encounters. Again we say, the irresponsibility of the current ABQ administration and the top brass of the APD are needlessly pushing the envelope of some of the peoples tolerance and creating an extremely dangerous situation for the people at large. We are truly sorry to have to say this, but we recommend that if you can avoid ABQ, do so... We are in full agreement with the newly formed City of Albuquerque Task Force on Public Safetys demand that the Department of Justice immediately take over the APD. CALL YOUR CITY COUNCILOR (505) 768-3100 AND DEMAND AN EMERGENCY MEETING TO DECERTIFY THE ALBUQUERQUE POLICE DEPARTMENT NOW!!!!!!! ------------------------------------------------- ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Police said two Taser shotgun rounds were fired at Boyd before officers shot him with assault rifles. Action 7 News put in a request to view the evidence in the case with a specific focus on the spent cartridges from the two Taser rounds that police said were fired before the deadly shots. As of Thursday night, police said those cartridges were not tagged into evidence. Albuquerque Police Chief Gorden Eden detailed many items involved in the case, including Taser rounds, a beanbag shotgun, assault rifles, spent bullet casings and knives that Boyd was said to have on his person. Action 7 News has learned that none of those key pieces of evidence have been tagged in as evidence. Right now, the only items in evidence are two items described as ammunition and two items described as test fires. The test fires are used to help determine which weapon fired each bullet. According to sources, it is common procedure to tag crucial items into evidence and have them safely stored under lock and key in the evidence vault in a timely manner. Its been 11 days since Boyd was shot and the evidence was collected. Action 7 News asked Albuquerque police to find out where the evidence was, but the chief has not given a statement yet. koat/news/key-pieces-of-evidence-not-tagged-yet-in-foothills-shooting/25202284#ixzz2xGPWEH8G
