Police Scotland can confirm a man has died following a collision on the M8 yesterday, Thursday. The 35-year-old, who was on foot during the incident at Junction 2 of the westbound carriageway, was involved in a collision with a Leyland DAF tanker truck and sustained serious injuries. He was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he passed away later that evening. Road Policing Officers closed the road for around five hours while they carried out an investigation at the scene. Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has any information that can assist with the ongoing enquiries, is asked to come forward. A Police Scotland spokesman said: The full circumstances surrounding this tragic incident are still being investigated and we are keen to hear from any drivers or passengers who were in the area at the time. Similarly, anyone with any further information relevant to this investigation is also asked to get in touch We would like to thank those affected by Thursday nights delays on the M8 for their patience and co-operation during the police response.
