Police Scotland has appealed to the public for information following a serious road traffic collision on the A90 Fraserburgh to Cortes road on Monday [December 29, 2014] at around 2.15pm. The collision involved a black Nissan Qashqai which had been travelling south and a 26-year-old male pedestrian who was pushing a bicycle, also travelling south. As a result of the collision the male pedestrian was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries where he is currently being treated. The occupants of the Nissan Qashquai were uninjured. Sergeant Rob Warnock, from the Aberdeenshire and Moray Road Policing Unit, said: Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are at an early stage and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the black Nissan Qashqai or the male pedestrian prior to the incident to contact the police. In particular we would like to speak to the driver and occupants of a black BMW vehicle which had been travelling behind the black Nissan Qashqai. The vehicle stopped at the scene but left before police were able to speak to the occupants. They may have information which could help the investigation and I would appeal for them to contact us. I would also ask anyone who has any information which would assist our investigation to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if they wish to remain anonymous.
