Police appeal for information as they link two incidents of indecent exposure Detectives have issued a further appeal for the public’s help after a report of indecent exposure in Catterick they are linking to a similar incident in Bedale. The incident occurred at around 12.25pm on Sunday 29 June 2014, on Mowbray Road, when the driver of a black Volkswagen Polo stopped by a young girl and indecently exposed himself. He is described as having black or dark brown hair and was wearing square shaped glasses. Although left very upset neither of the girl was physically uninjured. The incident in Bedale too place around 3.30pm on Saturday 28 June 2014, on Benkhill Drive, near the school, when a man of a similar description performed a lewd act in front a 10-year-old girl. Detective Inspector Shaun Page, of Northallerton CID is investigating both reports. He said: “Thankfully neither of the girls were physically hurt. However, they have quite naturally been left deeply upset by their experiences. “As the description of the suspect and his vehicle match closely, I believe that the same man is responsible for both incidents. “If you have any information which could assist my enquiries, I urge you to contact the police straight away.” DI Page added: “Officers are carrying out extra patrols in the Bedale and Catterick areas as reassurance for the public.” Anyone who can help officers to progress this investigation should contact Northallerton CID on 101, select option 2 and ask for the department by name.
