Police are appealing for public assistance following a shooting in an industrial area at Greenacre this morning. About 1.15am (Monday 3 November 2014), officers attached to Bankstown Local Area Command were called to Rosedale Avenue, near the intersection of Brunker Road, after reports a man had been shot. Investigators have been told a man was standing outside a premises at the location when a number of shots were fired. It remains unclear as to whether the shots were fired from a passing vehicle or not. The man sustained pellet wounds to his face and shoulder, before witnesses assisted the man, carrying him back inside the building. Emergency services attended a short time later and a crime scene was established. The man, of unknown age, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics, before being taken to hospital. He’s expected to undergo surgery and his injuries are not considered life threatening. Police are speaking with a number of witnesses at the scene and are appealing for anyone with information that could assist in their inquiries to come forward. In particular, they would like to hear from anyone who may have seen a vehicle driving in the vicinity of the location at the time of the shooting.
