Police are appealing for witnesses following an alleged road rage incident in Sydney’s west today. Officers have been told about 11am (Monday 5 May), a black Hyundai iLoad van was seen driving dangerously along Victoria Street Smithfield. As the Hyundai approached the intersection of Market Street, the male driver spoke to a 27-year-old man driving another vehicle nearby. The man then got out of his van and approached the 27-year-old, allegedly punching him a number of times to the head before threatening him with a screwdriver. The man was able to drive away and headed to Fairfield Police Station to report the matter. He did not require medical treatment for his injuries. Officers from Fairfield Local Area Command are investigating and would like to speak to a man described as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance, 25-30 years of age, with short dark hair and facial stubble. They would also like to speak to any witnesses, or anyone who has information about the identity of the man involved.
