Police are investigating a report that a man invited a child into his vehicle at Hope Valley this morning. At about 7.30am, a 12-year-old boy was walking in a laneway off Dunn Road, Hope Valley, when a man approximately 25 metres away and standing next to an old white Holden station wagon spoke to him. The boy ran away and immediately reported the incident. He was not injured during the episode. The man is described as of Caucasian appearance, aged about 30 years, 175cm tall, slim build, with short, messy black hair. He wore dark clothing and thongs. The school the child attends is aware and the school community has been informed.
